Bake Off is Back!
by Josh Dyer
After another year of patiently waiting, ‘The Great British Bake Off’ is finally back on our screens. The new batch of thirteen contestants that entered the iconic bake-off tent, to fight it out for the prestigious title of star baker, has already been whittled down to 11. The whole team here at Becky Broome HQ are so excited for another year of collapsed cakes, soggy bottoms, delicious creations and Paul Hollywood’s elusive handshakes. So to celebrate its return we’ve delved into the archives of amazing cakes and bakes to find some of our all-time favourites.
Serving 10 to 12 people this cake is an easy people pleaser. The zingy passion fruit curd cuts through the light coconut cream giving the cake a fresh Caribbean flavour.
What could be better than coffee and cake? These simple madeleines are the perfect accompaniment to afternoon tea or just as an indulgent treat.
This delicate patisserie tower will really test your skills but is well worth the effort. It is sure to dazzle friends and family at your next special event.
The spiced chai flavours in these buns complement the classic fruit in this recipe. Homemade Chelsea Buns make for a delightful weekend breakfast served with tea and the Sunday papers.
It may only be August but it’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas! Paul Hollywood’s complex Kransekake may take a little practice to master but will make a stunning centrepiece for the Christmas day table.
