At the show we launched our 2011 Christmas Collection.  A hand drawn snowflake design hand printed onto stone coloured cotton.  The simple design and subtle colour palette creates an understated festive feel.  A range of table linens including napkin sets, placemat sets, coaster sets and table runners plus Christmas stockings are available.

We had an amazing show and have already been busy printing in the studio to keep up with the orders!

In my last blog post we were busily preparing for Top Drawer Spring.  Here is a photo of our stand.

Two and a half weeks after Top Drawer we exhibited at Spring Fair.  We had a larger stand so we changed the product display adding shelves and ladders - which were great for displaying the aprons and tea towels without taking up too much space!

Several of our products depicting naval documents were chosen by a trend forecasting company to be a part of Trend House.  Trend House was an area within Spring Fair which showcased ‘hot contenders for next season’s best selling products’.  As you can imagine we were thrilled!

After the trade shows at the beginning of the year I decided to take a step back and start designing again.  Starting a new business takes literally all of your time up and my designing always seemed to be at the bottom of the list!  Kristian and I joined a print workshop in Manchester and produced some simple Easter designs which were printed on to gift bags and tags.  We launched them on our Not On The High Street page and received a fantastic reaction!  So fantastic that we could barely keep up with the demand ... not that I’m complaining!  We designed and printed limited edition prints to commemorate the Royal Wedding plus a few other designs.

This got us to thinking about screen printing onto fabric.  After a lot of research and much consideration we decided to bite the bullet and bring our printing in-house.  We bought and installed a 20ft print table, washout booth, racking and lots of sundries!  Here is the transformation of our studio.

Now all we had to do was design and print a new range!  However, after a lot of hard work, seven day weeks and plenty of late nights we launched our AW11 collection at Harrogate Home and Gift Show last week!  We received an amazing response and could not be happier.  Here is a sneak peak at the new range which will be available from September.

We are extremely proud to have our products made in Britain and printing new ranges in our Cheshire studio adds a beautiful handmade quality.

Traditional proverbs and vintage style union jacks are the inspiration behind the collection, creating a sense of homeliness and comfort.  The deep red, navy and cream colour palette adds a patriotic feel to the collection – perfect for the upcoming Queen’s Jubilee and the Olympics!  The range includes small cushions, large feature cushions, framed prints, tea towels and aprons.

We had the same stand at Harrogate Home and Gift that we had the year before, and it was tiny, but I think we used the space well, considering!  I can’t believe it was a year ago that I launched to the trade, so much has happened over that time!  I just want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me and the business including our loyal customers, facebook and twitter supporters.  Here’s to a lot more successful years to come!

The majority of last week and all of this week has been and will be dedicated to preparing for the upcoming trade show, Top Drawer.  It runs from16th - 18th January at Earls Court, London.  The to-do list has been and still is enormous and includes, re-designing and printing trade information leaflets, brochures and order forms, ironing samples, creating new labels for samples, check stand lighting, re-paint stand display cabinet and email invitations to buyers to name a few!.  Also this week we have been sending out trade information to very organised buyers who are getting ahead of the pack before Top Drawer!

So we have plenty still to do ... best get back to it!

Our collection has also received some fantastic coverage in the press and on blogs over the last few weeks.   Our pocket watch cushions were featured in the 'Product News' section of October's Aga Living magazine.

Aga Living liked our products and company so much that they have just interviewed me for an article to be featured in the December issue - out at the end of November.

An article in the Wirral News about the anniversary exhibition at Staacks Gallery included a mention about our collection.  Click here to read the article.  The exhibition has finished now but our range sold so well in the gallery that they are continuing to sell it until Christmas!

The blog 'Domestic Sluttery' picked up on our British Document tea towels this week.  Click here to have a look.  The blog has a huge following and rightly so!  It is a woman's one stop shop with articles on design, fashion, beauty and food - including delicious recipes too!  There are four editors and nine contributing writers which highlights the strength and popularity of this utterly brilliant blog.  This is why we were thrilled to see that Siany, the founding editor, had featured our tea towels in Tea Towel Tuesday - a weekly feature on the site.  Be sure to have a look.

We went to London for the day last week for a meeting about potentially doing some design work and production for a fantastic company.  It is extremely early days yet - if it works out, the range will only be available late 2011 early 2012!  We've also got some other design and production work that we are currently quoting for at the moment which is very exciting!

As Christmas is nearing we have been putting together some gorgeous gift sets.  These will be available on the website very soon!  I will do a separate blog for them as this one has gone on too long already!!

We only had a few hours to work our magic and turn this very bare, very drab little space into something visually exciting that would stop buyers in their tracks!  This was the result ...

We were very happy with how the stand looked and we went on to have a great show!  We launched our new range of framed textile prints (which I will tell you more about soon!) which received a fantastic reaction from buyers! 

Keep checking the stockists lists for some beautiful shops that will be stocking our range very soon.  As always though, our online shop has the full range of Becky Broome products, so have a look there too!  We also gained some fabulous contacts from the show who are very interested in our products but as always everything has to be kept hush hush for now!

Kristian worked the show with me and we could not believe the amazing response we received!  We gained quite a few new accounts so keep checking the stockists’ lists for shops that will be selling Becky Broome products near you!   We also have even more exciting news to tell but we’re going to have to keep quiet a little longer until everything is finalised - but watch this space ...

All in all we could not have hoped for a better first show!

I also have just received some other exciting news ... I can't say anything just yet but watch this space!
