The Perfect New Years Eve Party
by Josh Dyer
There is a lot of pressure for New Year’s Eve to be a magical night. The expectations of a fresh start for the year ahead leave many feeling deflated after an anticlimactic evening. Instead of spending a small fortune going out we are going to help you plan the perfect new years eve party.
Choosing a theme will make your life so much easier. Black tie ball, roaring 20’s with copious amounts of champagne, back garden bomb fire with toasted marshmallows, or a global theme celebrating each new year as it happens around the world. The possibilities are endless, simply go as extravagant or minimalist as you want.
Creating an electric atmosphere is the most important part of any party. Once you’ve chosen your theme you should create an atmosphere to match. Always keep the space cosy and inviting, with decorations appropriate to your theme, keep it glitzy for black tie or homemade and boho for a bomb fire.
When deciding on what food to serve your guests the best option is to keep it simple. Unless you’re a true culinary then it’s best to skip the three-course meal and instead go for bite-sized canapes and finger food. This will allow you to spend as little time as possible in the kitchen as after all the party is for you to enjoy as well. A dessert table or sweet station is a low maintenance way to ensure your guests are always provided for.
When hosting a party don’t be afraid to experiment with the drink selection. Of course, there has to be plenty of bubbles at the perfect new years eve party. However, themed welcome cocktails will really make it a truly memorable occasion. If you are opting for BYOB then ask your guests to bring their favourite drink and make trying each offering part of the entertainment.
