World Nutella Day
by Josh Dyer
Nutella is the king of chocolate spreads and so it’s no wonder that it has it’s very own day. World Nutella Day is celebrated on February 5th every year. Nutella began life in an Italian bakery, during the 1940s when chocolate was hard to come by. The beloved brand has since become a household favourite of many, with a jar sold every 2.5 seconds worldwide. A staple of the breakfast table, it is normally found spread on toast and pancakes, or sneakily spooned straight from the jar. While such simplicity is delicious, it would be a shame not to try some of the tempting recipes out there. We have found some of our favourites and already can’t wait to give them a go.
If you’re going to bake with Nutella then these cookies are the ultimate indulgence. Each 155g cookie should be baked until gooey and is oozing with Nutella in the middle. So decadent you will struggle to go in for seconds!
Blondies are a great option if you want a treat that isn’t chocolate upon chocolate. A delicate layer of Nutella is sandwiched between the vanilla, chocolate chip, and hazelnut blondie batter.
This cupcake recipe is just right for two, making it the ideal Valentines Day indulgence. Classic chocolate cupcakes topped off with creamy Nutella frosting, airy raspberry whipped cream, and a final drizzle of chocolate sauce.
If you’re not a fan of baking but still want a warming Nutella hit then hot chocolate is a great option. This simple three ingredient recipe is perfect on its own or as a base to experiment with. Try swapping out the milk for alternative options, or for cream if you’re after an even more indulgent drink.
