Outdoor Entertaining Essentials

Spring is here once again and with it, the promise of longer, warmer days. This of course means more time spent in our gardens and outdoor spaces. British weather permitting that is! Having an outdoor space that is ready to entertain in is especially important for the coming months as some lockdown restrictions begin to be lifted. This month we can be in groups of up to six people in a private garden, giving us the opportunity to spend some quality time with our loved ones and friends. With a bit of inspiration, you can easily create an outdoor space that you’ll want to be in all summer long. We have come up with some of our outdoor entertaining essentials to help inspire your space.

Décor

Creating the right atmosphere is key to having a garden fit for entertaining in. Choosing a theme can be a great place to start. Why not recreate being on holiday at home? Try recreating a luxury Mediterranean terrace, an exotic Moroccan poolside, or even a floral English garden. Don’t forget to take into consideration the size of your outside space before adding in the appropriate number of accessories as you don’t want the space to feel too cramped.

Bar

You can’t have a garden party without a good bar. If you’ve chosen a theme, then your bar can follow through with this. Fill a tiki bar with elaborate fruit cocktails or a Mexican themed bar with plenty of tequila. A mix and match bar is the perfect way to cater to all tastes, simply get a selection of spirits, mixers and garnishes. Of course, you can’t beat fully stocked garden pub with your favourite beers, wines and spirits.

Food

When you’re having a party you’ve got to make sure your guests are fed and watered. If you’re feeling fancy, a full sit-down dinner party can be as formal or casual as you want. Or if you don’t want to go to such lengths then a buffet, a high tea, or even just a selection of nibbles is the effortless way to keep you and your guests happy.

Activities

While they’re not a necessity, having activities can be a great way to inject some fun into a garden party. Go big with an inflatable hot tub or cinema screen and projector. Or you could keep it simple with some traditional lawn games or a scavenger hunt.
