Artworker & Designer Production Assistant (full-time)

WHAT WE NEED IN A NUTSHELL

We’re looking for a full time Artworker & Designer Production Assistant to join our team. The position is on a 12 month maternity cover basis. Whilst this is a maternity cover role, there could also be the potential for the contract to keep rolling and possibly for the position to become permanent. The successful candidate should be available to start in August.

You will have 2+ years of experience in an art-working/design role, be highly skilled in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop taking concepts through to finished product. You will be passionate about creating personalised products, with a meticulous eye for detail. The role will be varied and you must be willing to have a hands on role within the production team when required. You must be able to work to tight deadlines and thrive in a fast paced environment. WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS

Reporting to a Studio Supervisor and Directors, you will play a key role within the artwork, design and production departments.

Some of your key responsibilities may include:

• Completion of digital artwork for customer orders
• Technical art-working for curved products
• Research and design new products, both self-initiated and working to briefs
• Trend research for new products and projects
• Presenting research findings in reports and presentations
• Assisting the marketing team by identifying opportunities for growth and development
• Design print ready artwork for packaging and leaflets
• Project based artwork for all sales and social platforms
• Applying artwork to glassware
• Masking and etching glassware
• Cleaning and polishing glassware
• Quality control
• Gift wrapping
• Packing customer orders
• General administration and workshop duties
• Assisting with the day to day running of the business

Training will be provided.

Our normal hours of work are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday with a 30 minute lunch break. However, on the run up to Christmas the working hours will extend to meet demand but will not exceed twelve hours per day. You must also be available to work weekends when required, as much notice as possible will be given. Flexibility and willingness to work overtime are key elements for this role.

You must be highly creative and have a track record in creative design and manufacture with a keen eye for the small details and want to be involved in an exciting brand. You possess the ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment, whilst still maintaining the high standards of quality that we require. You will have the customer at the front of your mind, producing the perfect gift that you are proud to send to the customer. You’re happy to work as part of a wider team and are able to take instruction but also relish taking your own initiative. Highly organised, you’re able to juggle multiple projects and have the ability to work to given deadlines. You’re a good communicator who’s able to articulate ideas, opinions and issues clearly. You’re passionate about your role and take pride in your work.

THE KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE NEED

• 2+ years of experience in an art-working or design role
• Demonstrable experience in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Freehand illustration skills would be an advantage
• Excellent IT skills
• An impeccable understanding of the English language including grammar and punctuation
• Ability to work to a very high standard whilst under pressure
• Must be highly organised and have excellent time management skills
• Must be friendly and articulate in order to convey a variety of ideas and concepts both in writing and in direct contact with management
• A keen eye for detail
• Customer focused mindset
